It is a carefully balanced formulation of vinyl resins and fast-drying solvents which are ideal for application by spraying. It can be applied to a recently varnished painting without causing, spotting, or orange peel(*). Once the isolating varnish has dried (1 to 2 hours), the painting can be varnished with a suitable furnishing varnish, such as BEVA Finishing or BEVA Matte Varnish. Because the isolating varnish dries rapidly, it does not penetrate absorbent surfaces, such as those of modern and contemporary paintings, and causes only minimal color change. Because its vinyl resins are colorless, stable, and clear, G. Berger's Isolating Varnish can be used to isolate acrylic paintings from any overpainting or varnishing which they might require for their protection. Although the application of PVA on acrylics is irreversible, such a coating might nevertheless prove useful as a protection for the surfaces of these paintings since PVA's do not discolor.

It was a revolutionary method, extensively tested, which was since accepted by many leading museums and private conservators worldwide. When Union Carbide discontinued its production of AYAB, many professionals began searching for an acceptable substitute. It seems that several researchers, working independently of each other, found Mowilith 20 (Hoechst Chemical Co.) to be such an acceptable substitute 

(1). Having worked with the AYAB inpainting medium since its introduction to the profession, G. Berger developed a formula for adapting Mowilith 20 which most closely resembles AYAB 

(2). G. Berger's Inpainting medium is sold in concentrate form containing 35% solids. For inpainting it should be diluted in ethanol (1:4), to make a 7% solution of PVA (5 times the quantity sold). This formula stays permanently reversible in alcohol and/or water of low alkalinity.

BEVA Gesso is a highly elastic putty capable of following the movements of the substrate, thus solving an age old problem. Combining a compressible, inert mineral power, oxidation inhibitors, UV stabilizers, and a buffer to remain a non-acidic pH and BEVA resin, we have formulated a stable gesso, reversible with heat or with mild hydrocarbons solvents. BEVA Gesso adheres to wood, plastics, metals, paint, etc. It may be tinted with dry pigments. Smooth and flexible, it can be shaped or textured. BEVA Gesso dries white in color, accepts all currently used media (oil, alcohol, or aqueous) and can be burnished and gilded.

It dries into a film which has excellent leveling of a surface is required; UVS Finishing Varnish can be \"rubbed\" when dry just like mastic or damar.

This is a high gloss varnish.  It can be combined in various proportions with Beva UVS Matte Varnish to bring down the shine and produce a more satin to matte finish.

After grinding and dusting, this product can be painted with aqueous or alkyd paint. Flugger is suitable for spot filling and for finishing filling of primed woodwork, plaster, concrete, anti-corrosion iron and metal as well as previously painted surfaces. It can be applied in a relatively thick layer without cracking. Wood conservators and framers use Flugger to fill missing areas, and it can be sanded when it is dry. Pigments can be added to color Flugger, and it is also used to build up missing areas on acrylic paintings. Thin or clean it using water. Drying time at 68 F (20 C) is approximately 1/2 hour (dry to the touch). Re-coating interval is approximately 1 hour; the finished product is fully cured in several days. Please note that this product is susceptible to mold. The varnish may be removed with mineral spirits or turpentine. MSA varnish can be used over a wide variety of paints, including acrylic, oil, alkyd, egg tempera, watercolor, and casein. 

As a topcoat for acrylics, it provides a harder, lower tack surface that is much less susceptible to attracting and embedding dirt and is more mar resistant. When sprayed, it functions well as a consolident for mediums, such as soft pastel, chalk, oil pastel, charcoal, tempera and dry pigments. It can also be mixed with oil and alkyd paints to accelerate drying and improve flexibility. 

The different finishes can be intermixed, or used sequentially, to achieve the desired sheen. 
Available in matte, satin, and gloss.

\r\n\r\nHow to use
\r\nInterior woodwork: Ensure the surface is bare: remove any wax finishes with Liberon Wax and Polish Remover and any varnish finishes with Liberon Fine Wood Stripper. Clean, dry and ensure the surface is dust free. If required stain the wood with Liberon Palette Wood Dye before oiling.
\r\nExterior woodwork: Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from decaying timber. Surface greying or mould should also be removed as this may cause blackening of the timber.

\r\n\r\nApplication:
\r\nInterior woodwork: Apply with a brush or lint-free cotton cloth and allow to penetrate for 5 to 10 minutes before wiping off excess with a clean lint free cloth. Allow to dry for a minimum of 5 hours and apply more coats as required. We recommend a minimum of 3 coats. For best results gently rub with Liberon Ultra Fine Steel Wool (0000) between coats. In damp areas such as kitchens, bathrooms more coats will be required to ensure adequate protection.
\r\nExterior woodwork: Apply as above. Application of 4 coats will give minimum protection. Exposed areas will require more coats. It is important to ensure sufficient coats of oil are applied initially to give maximum protection. It is not necessary to remove excess on sawn timber, but wipe off any runs.

\r\n\r\nImportant: Oil finishes bring out the natural colors of timber. A wet surface will be an indication of the final color. Always test product on spare surface of inconspicuous area for color, compatibility and end result.

\r\n\r\nCleaning and maintenance
\r\nInterior woodwork: Surfaces may be cleaned using a damp cloth and spills should be wiped up immediately. For stubborn stains a mild detergent can be used. Surfaces need to be re-oiled once a year or more, depending upon usage.
\r\nExterior woodwork: Clean off any surface grime, molds etc. (sand if required) before re-oiling. Exterior timbers need to be maintained on a regular basis, at least twice a year.

\r\n\r\nPrecautions
Superior Danish Oil may darken some timbers and blackening may occur on some external timbers
Store Liberon Superior Danish Oil at a temperature above 5°C. Always replace the lid otherwise the oil can deteriorate.
Oily cloths can self combust. Do not leave impregnated cloths in bundles. Before discarding lay them flat outside to dry to avoid a fire hazard.
Superior Danish Oil is not suitable for use on external oak. Liberon Pure Tung Oil is recommended for this purpose.
If the excess is not removed and the surface becomes sticky, wipe with white spirit to remove the sticky film and allow to dry before continuing.
