Transparent, ideal for relining dark canvas with Mylar or Stabiltex. Very smooth, will not trap air bubbles, not tacky at room temperature, non-toxic, non-flammable. Most often activated by the use of heat thus eliminating the need for ventilation of evaporated solvents.
1 mils (.0010\") (12.5 microns) thickness suitable for mounting of lightweight papers and fabrics.
2.5 mils (.0025\") (67 microns) thickness is for use on canvas and heavyweight materials.
The 2.5 mils is also available in 54\" wide rolls, eliminating the need for multiple strips of adhesive on larger surfaces. This product has the same properties including reversibility as BEVA 371 solution.
The new Beva 371 27\" Master Roll is 510 ft and the new 54\" Master Roll is 309 ft, economical alternatives when working large scale.
Please note that this materials activates at 65C (150F).

After prolonged accelerated aging its solubility increases, and BEVA D-8 becomes soluble in alcohol as well, indicating that during aging the breakage of cross-links exceeds their formation. A mixture of toluene, alcohol, and mineral spirits will remove D-8 from porous materials without leaving a residue. Useful for strip lining. In its pure form, or diluted with water, it is an excellent water-based adhesive dispersion, easy to apply, with good slip, and adhesion to a very wide range of surfaces. When partially dried, BEVA GEL turns into a strong contact adhesive with excellent adhesive to canvas, polyester, and Beva-coated surfaces. To achieve this, high-molecular polymers were incorporated in its formula, which give it the desired tackiness and retention of solvents. For these reasons, it dissolves only slowly.\r\n\r\nWhen fully dried, BEVA GEL turns into a heat-seal adhesive, with the same low-activation temperature as that of BEVA 371 (60-65C, 150-160F). BEVA GEL, BEVA 371, and BEVA D-8 adhere to each other in every form of application.\r\n\r\nBEVA GEL can be reversed with water, toluene, xylene, iso-propyl alcohol, or ethanol. This facilitates clean-up and corrections. Spraying with any or all of the above solvents reverts the dried adhesive back to the gel form, and makes it reusable as a contact adhesive. If the effect of any of these solvents is undesirable or the time required objectionable, the solution is to coat the surfaces to be joined with a layer of BEVA 371 Solution first.
